History
The Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater Los Angeles (BOMA/GLA) was established in 1915 to serve both the commercial real estate industry and the community.
BOMA/GLA is federated with BOMA International and BOMA California, the voices of the commercial real estate industry in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.
BOMA International was founded in 1907 and today represents 92 local associations throughout the United States and twelve international affiliates in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Philippines, Russia and South Africa. BOMA's 16,500-plus members own or manage more than nine billion square feet of commercial properties in North America.
BOMA International is a primary source of information on office building development, leasing, building operating costs, energy consumption patterns, local and national building codes, legislation, occupancy statistics and technological developments.
BOMA International's goal has always focused on actively and responsibly representing and promoting the interests of the commercial real estate industry through effective leadership and advocacy, through the collection, analysis and dissemination of information and through professional development.
Today BOMA/GLA is one of the largest local BOMA organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada and represents over 144 million square feet of real estate in the Greater Los Angeles area.
