Regional Networks


The Regional Networks provide a forum for Building, Professional and Associate members to inform themselves on topics important to the commercial real estate industry and provide input on issues and activities in their local market. Each of the five regions in Los Angeles County, listed below, holds two luncheons a year with speakers highlighting a broad range of topics and one social event aimed at providing networking opportunities within the region.

 

The Regional Councils are the Association’s “eyes and ears” and their input helps guide the direction of educational offerings, advocacy, membership recruitment and social networking opportunities. We encourage all members to bring legislative or building code issues, as well as ideas for topics or activities, directly to the Councils through an email to the Council Chair or by attending a Regional event.  

  • Long Beach / South Bay - Long Beach, areas south of Los Angeles Airport  
     
  • Northeast - Burbank / Glendale / Pasadena and east  
     
  • San Fernando Valley - Universal City west to Ventura County; Hollywood, Santa Clarita, Valencia, Lancaster, Palmdale  
     
  • Westside - Santa Monica, Westside, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Miracle Mile, Culver City, Marina Del Rey, LAX area  
     
  • Downtown – Los Angeles, Mid-Wilshire, areas southeast of the 10/110 Freeway intersection      


Recent educational topics have included:         

  1. A Light at the End of the Tunnell – Northeast Region       
  2. Emerging Trends in Office Leasing – Westside Region       
  3. Re-establishing Business after a Major Catastrophe – Long Beach/South Bay       
  4. Green Buildings-an Overview – San Fernando Valley    
     

The Regional Committees Assist in developing, organizing and promoting events which are held in their specific region. Committee members represent BOMA/GLA at the event and provide volunteer assistance, as required. Two (2) events per Region are planned for 2009. One focused on a social/networking activity with peers and colleagues and the second event will feature an educational topic related to the commercial real estate industry.
