Monday, April 2, 2018

Signatures are being gathered to place an initiative on the November ballot that would change Prop. 13 and significantly increase property taxes on commercial owners. Reassessments would occur every 3 years. The initial assessment would take place January of 2020.

BOMA California has been a part of coalition of businesses opposed to altering Prop. 13 for many years. Californians Against Higher Property Taxes is funded by a wide range of groups, including the California Chamber of Commerce, California Taxpayers Association, the California Business Roundtable, and California Business Properties Association, an umbrella group that includes BOMA California.
