WASTE HAULING TO COME BEFORE COUNCIL - SEND YOUR CONCERNS
RecycLA, LA City's new waste hauling franchise program, has seen a bumpy roll-out since its inception. But the grace period for haulers is over, and this month (starting February 1st) the City will be able to levy fees in the form of liquidated damages to haulers that are not meeting the standards set out by the City.
The matter will come before the City Council Committee on Energy, Climate Change, and Environmental Justice on Tuesday at a hearing called by Councilwoman Nury Martinez. BOMA/GLA Advocacy Staff will be there representing your interests. We will remind the Council that BOMA/GLA members stand with the City and LA Sanitation in pushing for a more sustainable, cleaner city but that the unexpected fees, cost increases, and severely lacking diversion reports make those goals harder to achieve.
Contact email@example.com if you would like to come to the hearing and testify before the Committee. And please continue to send over any recurring or new issues you have had. City Hall needs to hear the voice of BOMA/GLA members.
