John Bryant, Vice President, Advocacy Codes and Standards, addressed the BOMA Board of Directors at its recent meeting, noting that BOMA International gained significant protections for real estate through the Tax Reform Act of 2017. BOMA INTERNATIONAL TO ADVOCATE FOR OWNERS AT THE UPCOMING ICC HEARINGS

BOMA International continues to play a key role at the International Code Council hearings, which determine the building and fire code items that will be required nationwide. BOMA International developed detailed positions on over 50 items that will be heard by building and fire officials from around the country.

Senator Portantino represents almost the entirety of BOMA/GLA's Northeast Region including Glendale, Burbank, and Pasadena. Senator Portantino discussed some of his legislative priorities and had a fantastic dialogue with our leadership on how we can work together moving forward.

BOMA/GLA advocate Mitchell Vieyra has recently joined the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce's Government Affairs Committee as a voting member. BOMA/GLA recently joined the Chamber of Commerce and was asked to participate on the committee by Chamber staff.
