BOMA/GLA BOARD OF DIRECTORS TAKES POSITION ON STATE AND COUNTY MEASURES

The BOMA/GLA Board of Directors voted to oppose two onerous measures that would seriously hamper those working in development.

AB 1701 (Thurmond) would make director contractors liable for the wages, fringe benefits, or contributions of all workers on a private construction project if the subcontractor directly employing the workers fails to pay them. It creates a new private right of action against general contractors for liabilities they did not cause and without providing any notice or ability to prevent the harm.

We will keep you posted on our progress.
