BOMA/GLA LEADERSHIP MEETS LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR GAVIN NEWSOM

BOMA/GLA leadership had a unique opportunity to sit down with Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom to discuss his campaign for Governor of California. The Lieutenant Governor was familiar with our friends at BOMA San Francisco from his time as Mayor of San Francisco and displayed a great understanding of our issues. 

BOMA/GLA NORTHEAST LEADERSHIP MEETS WITH SENATOR PORTANTINO

BOMA/GLA Northeast leadership had a fun meeting with Senator Anthony Portantino this morning. Senator Portantino represents almost the entirety of BOMA/GLA's Northeast Region including Glendale, Burbank, and Pasadena. Senator Portantino discussed some of his legislative priorities and had a fantastic dialogue with our leadership on how we can work together moving forward. 

BOMA/GLA AND BIZFED DISCUSS KEY ISSUES WITH SUPERVISOR KATHRYN BARGER’S STAFF

As county taxes and fees skyrocket, BOMA/GLA Vice President Martha Cox-Nitikman and leaders from the LA County Business Federation (BizFed) took the opportunity to meet with Anna Mouradian, Chief of Staff for 5th District Supervisor Kathryn Barger (in center, above). The Supervisor is an important supporter of business, and understands the importance of real estate to the county economy.

BOMA/GLA PAC BOARD MEMBERS ATTEND FUNDRAISER FOR RAUL BOCANEGRA

Last week, BOMA/GLA PAC Board Member Becky Rios, Lincoln Property Company, attended a fundraiser for CA State Assemblymember Raul Bocanegra on behalf of the PAC. Assemblyman Bocanegra has been a longtime friend of BOMA/GLA and has a strong track record of supporting local business and real estate. His district covers the east San Fernando Valley.

BOMA/GLA LEADERS MEETING WITH ASM BURKE

BOMA/GLA and BOMA/GLA PAC leadership hosted a dinner with State Assembly Member Autumn Burke on Friday May 12th in Marina Del Rey. This was the first of many dinners that the association will be hosting with local and state legislators. 

The Assemblly Member's district includes El Segundo, Playa Vista, Marina Del Rey, Venice and Inglewood. She has strong pro-business and moderate views and is an ally to BOMA Greater Los Angeles.

The BOMA/GLA PAC has supported the Assembly Member over the last few years and looks forward to a continued relationship.

BOMA/GLA LEADERS MEET WITH LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR ANTONOVICH

BOMA/GLA Leaders met with LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich on Friday August 26th to discuss local and state issues that strongly affect the commercial real estate industry. Supervisor Antonovich was one of the leading forces behind Proposition 13, while a member of the state legislature in the late 1970s. He continues to fight against split roll property taxes and other unnecessary taxes and regulations on business.

BOMA/GLA Leadership met with LA City Controller Ron Galperin in Downtown LA on Friday April 15th. Leadership Meetings are a chance for BOMA/GLA members to sit down with leading elected officials and agency heads.
