SPLIT ROLL BATTLE ON FOR 2020

SPLIT ROLL BATTLE IS ON AND SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 2020!

Proponents of the Split Roll Property Tax measure that is currently circulating believe they will reach the required number of signatures. They have also decided to move the measure for the November 2020 ballot measure. They believe that more time to message and fundraise coupled with an expected higher Democrat-base voter turnout in the Presidential election will give them a higher chance of winning.

SPLIT ROLL TAX MEASURED DEFEATED FOR NOW; PUSHED TO 2020

The proponents of the 2018 Split Roll ballot measure have decided to put the measure on hold for the 2020 ballot instead. While this is good news for now, it WILL be back but we have more time to organize and fundraise in the meantime.

Your involvement in BOMA/GLA Advocacy is more important now than ever. Over the last year we’ve met with Gavin Newsom, Antonio Villaraigosa, John Chiang, Jimmy Gomez, Tony Cardenas, Robert Garcia, Ben Allen, Anthony Portantino, Miguel Santiago, Wendy Carillo, Laure Friedman, Mitch Englander, Bob Blumenfield, Jeff Prang, and more.

Signatures are being gathered to place an initiative on the November ballot that would change Prop. 13 and significantly increase property taxes on commercial owners. Reassessments would occur every 3 years. The initial assessment would take place January of 2020.
