COUNCILMAN KORETZ' OFFICE UPDATES WESTSIDE MEMBERS

Representatives from Councilman Koretz' office were on hand at the Westside Regional Breakfast last week to answer any and all questions about City of LA issues from BOMA/GLA members.

Joseph Galloway gave updates on homelessness in the City and continuing efforts to combat the problem and spoke at length about the street vending ordinance that is currently with the City Attorney and coming back to the Council towards the end of summer. If you think your property should be exempted street vending, contact your Council office to see if they can work to address your concerns.

BOMA/GLA TESTIFIES BEFORE COUNCIL COMMITTEE RE: SIDEWALK VENDING

BOMA/GLA Advocacy staff has been working with the Council on their sidewalk vending efforts since the discussion began. Commercial property owners have a large stake in the issue and want to make sure that the Council implements a system that balances the rights of sidewalk vendors and those of brick-and-mortar business and property owners. See below for the transcript of our testimony. We continue to work with the Committee responsible for the ordinance and the individual Councilmembers and their staff.
