BOMA/GLA Statement on COVID-19

COVID-19 is a cause for concern worldwide and now in Southern California. BOMA Greater Los Angeles is also concerned.  The potential impact of the COVID-19 on all events in and around our lives is currently at the top of everyone’s minds.

It is important to BOMA/GLA that we balance the benefits of presenting meetings, seminars and social programs with the need to protect the health of members and others we serve. Current information suggests that for most people, in good health, the COVID-19 risks are reasonable; for others, however, they are not. Our priority is the health, safety, and well-being of all BOMA/GLA Members.

With this in mind, we ask you to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • If you are feeling ill – and particularly if you are running a fever – do not attend any BOMA/GLA programs or meetings.
  • Members and others who know they have been exposed to the Coronavirus should not attend meetings until they have had 14 days self-quarantine.
  • For those attending programs or meetings, BOMA/GLA encourages a “handshake free” environment to minimize the potential transmission of any illness. Your health and well-being are important to us and this will minimize potential risks.
  • When at a BOMA/GLA event, please wash your hands often and use hand purifier/sanitizer.

We want to avoid unnecessary alarm, but while we believe it is unlikely that someone might contract the virus from attending a BOMA/GLA event, we don’t want anyone to be exposed to the virus because they attended a function.

We will continue to monitor and track information and guidance from the CDC and World Health Organization and keep you current with any potential impact on the organization.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected].
