Advocate for Homeless Services and Housing
The significant increase in the presence of homeless individuals in all parts of Los Angeles County has impacted every individual living and working in the region. Our advocacy program consistently supports policies that provide alternatives to incarceration, including interim housing, and mental health and addiction programs.
BOMA/GLA has played a key role in the homelessness dialogue by advocating for additional services balanced with clear rules that maintain access to building entrances. As tenant concerns over the presence of the homeless has increased, BOMA/GLA developed a document for owners to share with tenants regarding the legal rights of the homeless, as well as a list of local service providers.
As part of the solution regionally, BOMA/GLA continues to update members on changes in city and state laws, while connecting them with homeless service programs in their region.
